For chartered accountants and company secretaries

When a client needs bank finance, the adviser you introduce should work for the client.

MaroonBrick Capital Partners is a boutique business finance and capital advisory practice for MSMEs and mid-corporates. We define what the business actually needs, structure it into a proposal a credit committee can act on, and carry it through to sanction and disbursement.

We are engaged and paid by the client, under an agreed engagement. We take no commission from any lender. It is a structural difference, and it changes what we are able to tell the client.

Why professionals refer to us

How the practice is run, and what your client can expect from the first conversation.

  1. Fee-based, paid by the client

We are not agents and we earn no commission from banks. We recommend the lender that suits the business, not the one that pays for the file.

  2. Professional-led on every case

A senior professional handles every case personally, from the first conversation to disbursement. No juniors, no handoffs.

  3. A limited number of mandates

We take on a deliberately limited number of mandates at any one time.

  4. A straight answer at screening

If a case is not fundable as it stands, we say so at the screening stage and explain why. Where we can, we point the client to someone better placed. There is no charge for that conversation.

  5. Confidentiality

All information shared by a client is treated as confidential and is not disclosed to any lending institution without the client's consent.

  6. We work from the existing records

Incomplete accounts are common and are usually fixable. We assess what exists, say plainly what is missing, and help build the file properly.

Cases worth referring

The situations we resolve most often, each with a past engagement of the same kind. Names and identifying details are withheld to protect client confidentiality.

Declined by the bank despite profitable operations

Most declines come from how the proposal was prepared, not from the business. Once declined, the same case is harder to place again, so it has to be rebuilt the way lenders evaluate risk.

High NBFC interest rates of 18 to 30% when bank finance is possible

Businesses borrowing from NBFCs or private lenders when a bank facility is within reach on the applicable assessment norms.

Limits not revised despite growth

A limit sanctioned once, a business that has since doubled, and the gap filled by bill discounting or private borrowing. We reassess the requirement against the operating cycle and correct the drawing power.

Facilities spread across several banks

Limits split across lenders, renewing at different times and rates. We consolidate them into a single, correctly sized facility.

First-time applicants with no banking history

A running business that has never borrowed from a bank. Several of our engagements were the client's first bank facility.

No property to offer as collateral

Sound cash flows with no property to pledge. Where the route genuinely fits, CGTMSE guarantee cover can replace property security, assessed alongside conventional secured routes.

Requirements that do not fit a standard template

Strong cash flows with weak collateral, a new contract without operating float, or a seasonal cycle a flat annual limit does not cover. The facility has to be built rather than selected.

Endless documentation with no clarity

Repeated requests from the lender and no clear view of what the credit team needs. We prepare the information and documents in the form the credit team expects, including cost sheets and projections for projects.

What the client needs to send

To begin, this is all we need.

  1. Client name, business and what it does
  2. Yearly sales and funding needed, approximate is fine
  3. What the funding is for, and any existing bank facility
  4. Two years of complete financials

If the accounts are incomplete, send what exists. We say plainly what is missing and help build the file properly.
